My vape battery doesn’t stay charged for long

short battery life is usually down to a few fixable things. Run through these in order:

Quick checks (2–5 mins)

  • Lower the power. Drop wattage/“boost” or switch to a lower-power pod. High watt = fast drain.

  • Use a higher nic strength. You’ll take fewer/shorter puffs for the same satisfaction → less drain.

  • Open the airflow slightly. Tight airflow can make you draw longer/harder.

  • Try another cable/plug. Use a good USB-C cable and a 5V/1–2A wall adapter (no fast-charge bricks unless the manual says so).

  • Clean contacts/port. A cotton bud + a little isopropyl (or dry tissue) on the pod/device contacts and inside the USB port.

Charging best practice

  • Charge before empty. Lithium packs last longer when kept 20–80% rather than 0–100%.

  • Room temperature. Cold = weak output; heat = damage. Don’t charge/use in a hot car or below ~5 °C.

  • Don’t vape while charging unless the manual explicitly allows pass-through.

Usage habits that drain fast

  • Very low-resistance coils (sub-ohm) at higher wattage. Switch to 1.0–1.2 Ω MTL pods for all-day life.

  • Chain-vaping. Leave 10–20s between puffs.

  • Boost/turbo modes and bright screen timeouts—turn them down/off.

If you have a removable battery (18650/21700)

  • Age & cycles. After ~200–300 cycles, capacity drops. If it’s old, replace with a reputable cell.

  • Marry pairs for dual-battery mods (always use/charge them together).

  • Inspect wraps. If torn, re-wrap before use. Never use swollen, hot, or leaking cells.

Pod/disposable specifics

  • Tiny batteries = tiny runtime. A 350–500 mAh pod gives a few hours of heavy use. Consider a bigger-battery pod (≥800–1000 mAh) or a refillable kit for longer life and lower cost.

  • Prefilled pods: some are higher power; pick the brand’s “regular/low” output versions if available.

When it’s likely a fault

  • Brand-new device dies very quickly or won’t reach full charge.

  • Gets hot while charging or in use.

  • Battery % jumps (e.g., 60% → 20% suddenly).

If you see any of these, stop using it and contact the retailer for a replacement under warranty.

Safety & disposal

  • Never use damaged/swollen batteries.

  • Recycle old pods/batteries at electrical recycling points or use our takeback scheme—don’t bin them.

Tell me your device model, coil/pod type, wattage (if adjustable), and roughly how often you puff, and I’ll give you tailored settings and an expected “hours per charge” target.
